Biography

Chris Sherrard is an experienced counsel whose criminal practice has included the full spectrum of serious offences. He has undertaken complex trials in the following areas: murder, terrorism, firearms, robbery, drug possession, importation, cultivation & supply, sexual offences and serious fraud. In the civil courts he has extensive experience in Personal Injury actions, Housing Law and Probate, acting for both plaintiff and defendant. Judicial Review, Immigration & Asylum, Licensing applications and Parole Commissioners cases are also main areas of practice.

R v McCann, Eamonn & others [2008] NICA 25; [2009] NIJB 152 (Involved in securing an acquittal for a high profile defendant in respect of criminal damage charge alleged to have been committed against a large multi national arms manufacturer.)

Dastani v SOS for Home Department. IAA. AS/51463/2003 Iranian asylum seeker. Overturned decision of Secretary of State and Lower court in successful appeal based on grounds of religious persecution in home country.
