Biography

I initially joined the legal profession as a solicitor in 1999 and practised mainly in the areas of family and child law for the following 12 years. Since qualifying as a barrister in 2011, I have continued to specialise in this field. I am particularly interested in children’s rights and practise in all areas of child and family law including international abduction cases; private and public law cases under the Children (Northern Ireland) Order 1995.

1997; First Class Honours Common & Civil Law with French, Queen’s University, Belfast

1999; Certificate in Professional Legal Studies, Queen’s University, Belfast

Post Graduate Diploma in Human Rights Law (Distinction)

Experience

I was a member of the Management Committee of the Children’s Law Centre from 2006 until 2011 and Chair of the Committee for a one year period within that time.
