Séamus qualified as a solicitor in 2006. He worked in private practice before moving on to numerous public sector roles. These included drafting legislation and giving advice to senior civil servants and ministers. Most recently he was the Police Ombudsman’s Director of Legal Services, giving advice on all areas of law and, in particular, regarding criminal law, civil litigation, inquests and judicial review.
Séamus was a contributor to Valentine’s All Law of NI Resource (2013-2018).
Séamus also chairs a number of Tribunals on a part time basis.
Séamus has security clearance to the most senior level.
