Biography

Shonagh was called to the Bar of Northern Ireland in 2022.

Shonagh enjoys a varied practice with a focus on criminal law, appearing regularly on behalf of defendants in the Magistrate’s Court, Crown Court and County Court in contested hearings and applications.

Shonagh also appears in the County Court in applications under the protection from harassment legislation.

Shonagh has also been instructed to represent detained patients and prisoners in hearings before the Mental Health Review Tribunal and the Parole Commissioners for Northern Ireland, gaining significant experience of working with vulnerable individuals.

Shonagh has gained experience in Extradition Law, Judicial Review, Human Rights Law, and Immigration Law.

Shonagh is currently accepting instruction in all areas of law.
