Bar Council Chairman Presents Funds to Action Medical Research

For many years, the Bar Council has supported the work of local charities in Northern Ireland and for 2012-2013, Action Medical Research was the Bar’s official Charity of the Year.

On behalf of the Bar Council, Chairman Mark Mulholland QC presented a cheque for £32,041 representing fundraising efforts in the past year to Pamela Ballentine, incoming Chairperson of Action Medical Research in memory of the late John Creaney Q.C.

Speaking at the event, Mark Mulholland said “Each year, we endeavour to nominate a charity close to the heart of our membership. Given that some of our founding members have such a close association with Action Medical Research; the Bar Council greatly welcomed the opportunity to help, even in such a small way.”
