Consultation Response: Gillen Review’s Preliminary Civil Justice Report

Lord Justice Gillen’s Review of Civil and Family Justice published a Preliminary Civil Justice Report for public consultation in October 2016. This contained 221 recommendations covering a range of topics, including paperless courts, online dispute resolution, fixed fees in the High Court, new approaches to personal litigants, the creation of a Civil Justice Council, an increase in the jurisdiction of the County Court to £75,000 and the reconstitution of the NICTS as a non-ministerial Department.
