Consultation Response: Money Damages
_700_467.jpg)
The Department of Justice launched a consultation on an alternative method for funding money damages claims in November 2015. Running simultaneously with the consultation on the Access to Justice 2 Review, the document makes a range of proposals around the potential operation of Conditional Fee Agreements and the scope of civil legal aid in Northern Ireland.
The Bar’s submission to the consultation reiterates a number of the points made in response to the Access to Justice 2 Review and outlines our opposition to the introduction of CFAs in Northern Ireland given the problematic history of this model in England and Wales. Read the Bar’s full response to the consultation.
