NI Barrister named Barrister of the Year UK

Local commercial barrister Dr David Sharpe BL has been named ‘Barrister of the Year’ in the UK by Finance Monthly Magazine, a global publication for the corporate financial sector. The Finance Monthly Law Awards 2016 celebrates excellence and success across the legal industry.

Gerry McAlinden, Chairman of the Bar Council offered his congratulations;

“This is a wonderful achievement for David and showcases internationally the expertise and talent within The Bar of Northern Ireland. It is clear that we continue to offer some of the best commercial lawyers in the UK and our barristers are competing with the best on a global stage. ‘Barrister of the Year’ is a great success, particularly when bestowed by a leading financial publication.”

Winner David Sharpe BL was called to the Bar of Northern Ireland in 1991, and practices law in numerous jurisdictions. Before becoming a barrister David worked as a doctor and maintains an interest in healthcare law.

The Finance Monthly Awards recognise excellence in the finance sector and award industry leading accolades to those that have demonstrated distinction over and above.
