Over £37,000 Raised For Brain Injury Matters (NI)

During 2024 the Bar of Northern Ireland raised over £37,000 for charity partner Brain Injury Matters (NI).

The Bar’s Charity Committee undertook a range of fundraising events throughout the year to support the charity’s vital work.

Mark Conlon BL, outgoing Chair of the Bar’s Charity Committee commented,:“We have thoroughly enjoyed working in partnership with Brain Injury Matters (NI) to not only raise much needed funds for their work but also to play our part in increasing awareness around acquired brain injury. We would like to extend our thanks to all the Bar members who gave so generously to this extremely worthwhile cause”.

Speaking at the recent cheque presentation Gerard Anderson, Chief Executive Officer of the charity said: “The partnership between the Bar Library and Brain Injury Matters has provided us with an opportunity to raise awareness of the impact that brain injuries have on the lives of children, adults, and families throughout Northern Ireland. Each one of us either in our personal or professional life has had contact with someone affected by a brain injury and working with an organisation who is as committed to the mission of advocating for some of the most vulnerable in our community, makes us exceptionally proud. We would like to thank the Bar Library for their dedication to making a meaningful difference to the lives of those who need it most and for taking the time to understand our work, the impact we have, and learn about the communities we serve.”

The Bar’s charity partner for 2025 will be announced in the coming weeks.
