Visiting the Bar Library
Welcome to the Bar Library – we aim to provide the highest standards of service to solicitors, clients and visitors. Most commonly, you will visit the Bar Library with your solicitor to meet with your barrister, to discuss your case or to prepare in advance of a court or tribunal hearing. Please do not hesitate to contact a member of staff if we can offer assistance during your visit.
Finding Us
The Bar Library is located beside the Royal Courts of Justice in Belfast and can be reached easily by public or private transport. Click here for more details.
Parking
The nearest available car parks are located at Victoria Square, Hilton Waterfront Hotel, Montgormery Street and Cromac Street. Please note charges will apply.
Access to our buildings
The Bar Library is fully accessible for wheelchair users. Please contact reception on 028 90241523 or complete our contact form if there are any arrangements which may assist you further.
On Arrival
Visitors should attend reception in the Bar Library to register your arrival and receive your security pass. Reception staff will be able to assist with any enquiry and contact the Barrister or staff member you are meeting, who will then arrive and escort you to the venue for your meeting or consultation.
The Bar Library offers a variety of meetings rooms. Reception will be able to advise you on the location of your meeting within our buildings. Some meetings will take place in the Old Bar Library, located next door within the Royal Courts of Justice. Reception staff will be able to provide you with directions.
Opening Hours
The Bar Library is open to members of the public from Monday to Friday and reception can be contacted between the hours of 8.30 am – 5.30 pm (5.00 pm on Friday). We are closed on public holidays.
Barristers may make special arrangements to meet with solicitors and clients outside the normal working hours. Please contact your solicitor to confirm such arrangements.
